The replacement of a commercial works within a Conservation Area is always a difficult planning proposal given the loss of employment, change of use and impact on the listed building surround the development.
After negotiations with the local planning officer and the conservation officer we established a route forward that not only provided the village with a high quality residential development but also a scheme that generated a greater income for the landowner than the original commercial works.
